Summer Ending

As summer ends we look at all the work that has been done on the farm this year. Our garden was filled to abundance with food for our table 100 pounds of potatoes, 30 pounds of onions, more lettuce and green beans then we were able to can, freeze or eat. Our first attempt at growing corn, edamame, and brusselsprouts all with good success. Our lavender faired well even with the deluge of rain we had all summer. We are finishing the touches on the horse pasture, and are getting ready for our wedding this fall. Our patch of mammoth sunflowers by the road are gargantuan and nod to all the summer residents and farmers that drive by. We consider ourselves blessed to have found this farm for our life together and our lavender.
